Accountable for all in-game sound effects, the Senior SFX Lead is a key contributor in the development of strategic Audio plans for Marathon. You’ll collaborate with and take direction from the Audio Director, leading efforts that take features from concept to completion while ensuring audio achieves established quality goals, technical targets, and maintains alignment with the shared audio vision of the project. As a senior representative of the Audio team, you’ll cultivate collaborative relationships across project disciplines, actively participating in experience-led creative discussions, and establishing Audio as an essential partner in the development process. A successful candidate will also strive to support the continued growth of Audio team members through knowledge-sharing, mentoring, and leading by example as it relates to the Audio craft and professionalism.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage, review, and approve all SFX on a live “games as a service” product
  • Drive quality efforts within SFX, providing actionable feedback, maintaining aesthetic alignment with the shared audio vision, and collaborating with Production to meet established timelines
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to establish SFX goals that support player experience objectives, identifying dependencies, deliverables, and resource required to achieve key results
  • Develop and implement audio guidelines for content creators, promoting sustainable best practices that empower team members to achieve quality targets
  • Contribute valuable feedback that may expose gaps in audio team knowledge, process, personnel or technology

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Games industry experience in an audio capacity, including experience with audio post-production, music, sound design, dialogue recording and pipelines, and mixing
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external partners
  • Demonstrative proficiency with standard industry tools and processes
  • Excellent written communication and documentation skills
  • Experience working and developing relationships with creative teams to aid in the iterative creative process
  • Being a positive mentor to internal and external partner audio teams
  • Ability to effectively lead a team through ambiguity

Listed below is this role’s base pay range. In other locations that Bungie has approved for remote work, this pay range may be adjusted up to +/- 10% and some roles may be classified as non-exempt (hourly).

This range is determined by an array of factors, including training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands. Additionally, it is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

Bellevue Pay Range

$133,000 — $159,000 USD

Bungie full-time (non-contract) employees in the U.S. also receive:

  • 20 days of accrued time-off in the form of PTO and sabbatical days, depending on the level of the position
  • 10 paid Floating Days annually, prorated in the first year of employment based on start date
  • 10 paid Bungie-observed holidays annually
  • One hour of Paid Sick Time (PST) for every 30 hours worked

Contract and International FTE employees receive competitive benefits through their relevant contracting agency.
